So hi everyone. I am a little frustrated right now, well alot frustrated, because my computer decided it didn't want to recognize my camera lately. So that means all my pictures are stuck on my SD card until I can get them off. I could go get them put onto a CD or developed, however, I am also reorganizing my picture folders and contents to get them downsized, and I think that would just add to the already time consuming task.
We have done many things though in the past month. We celebrated a niece's 3rd birthday, visited the kids great grandparents twice - making them yummy goodies to enjoy, had our 3-Christmas' holiday extravaganza, and then had a wonderful and relaxing New Year. We kept the kids very busy through out there holiday break making popcorn balls, candy covered pretzels, cookies, rice krispie treats and had free movie coupoons from friends that we rented movies with. The winner movie for the holiday season was Aliens in the Attic. Very cute and funny actually. Corny in spots, but definitely entertained the kids and they watched it over and over. We also finally saw the Proposal and GI Joe (Sahaan and I at least) and those were also very good movies. We did make one brave trip to the Childrens Museum on Dec 31st for their party at 12:00 pm for the little ones. It was fun, but a TON of people. It was funny though at like 1 pm the place was clearing out like there was a bomb or some thing, all we could figure is that it was nap time. This conclusion came from the many screaming, kicking and out right fit throwing kids that were having melt downs all at the same time. This happening as your watching them scramble for their stroller, bags, drinks, food, toys that the kids is throwing and hats and gloves falling out of the bottom of the stroller. Sahaan and I were SO glad, that at that moment we realized, we haven't done too bad with our kids and how they act in public. I think they were more in awe of the kids' behavoir than their lunch they were eating.
Another huge milestone in our families life also happened this holiday season. Kolbie is now 75% potty trained! That's right, she just decided about 3 days before Christmas that she would go and be VERY happy while going. She LOVES washing her hands and singing the potty power song over and over. Also the "Proud to wear my underwear" song. # 2 isn't happening yet, but it will come in time and encouragement. Through her painful doctor procedure back in September, she has let it overwhelm her to some extent and has a "fear" of going. I also hung a gigantic potty chart/poster in the bathroom. She gets to put stickers on this every time she goes and because it is so big, it should take some time to get full.
All of our health stayed fairly well through out the holiday's. A couple of light colds or coughs, but nothing a little medicine and rest didn't take care of. The kids had a wonderful time seeing their cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents as did we. It was wonderful. They also loved reading the Christmas story with Sahaan and I and were so grateful for all the presents they received. They were HAPPY! One funny Christmas morning story was we decided we would put candy in their stockings. Not a ton, but enough that we may see some hyperactivity. But we figured get it done and over with, brust their teeth alot that day and we should be through the "sugarcane woods". So Kai opens his stocking and is happy for the candy, but alot more excited about the little toys inside. Kai doesn't touch the candy and still to this day - has most of it. Kolbie on the other hand opened her stocking, liked the gifts but inhaled the candy. We go through breakfast, reading time, present time and some play time and I even fell alseep for an hour or so. I wake up to see her running full board into Sahaan and then darting out of the room, through the kitchen and down the hall and back. I asked Sahaan "so how long has this been going on?" with a smile. "About 30 minutes straight so far." So we continue to watch her for at least another 15-20 minutes and the next thing we notice is her eyes glazed over, her face blank and she is laying on her blankets and she says " I think I am tired now, I want to take a nap." We gathered her up and she slept for 3 hours.
School is back in session now, both kids not too excited, but doing well. Kolbie and I have been keeping busy this past week and I am determined to make 2010 the year I get my half projects done. These would be the projects I started and never finished, that now annoy me to no end when I look at them. I also will be starting some sort of work out regimen, so that I can feel healthier and look better.
I hope the rest of you are well, and felt blessed this holiday season, I know we did. Until I can get my pics up ~ love you bunches.
