Birthday Boy

Well, it's true. Our son Malakai is now 7. Which he likes to tell everyone is God and his favorite number. LOL. This year we had a simple party in the park with family and friends and we all pitched in and got him this cool new bike. He was very surprised. He also got a basketball and enough money to go to the store and get 4 Lego sets, thanks to the buy 1 get one 1/2 off deal that day. His other gift Sahaan and I got him, but he had received it a week earlier. We surprised him with tickets to go see Walking With the Dinosaurs. He had saw the movie from his cousins going the year before, but he really wanted to go as well. He is very into dinosaurs and tells us often, he is going to be a paleontologist.

Here's Kai with Sadiyah, Martay and Robert.

Quincy is one of Kai and Kolbie's friend. We watched Quincy when he was a baby, and he and Kai have a special little bond. They love to wrestle and run around with eachother.

The wind was blowing but we got the cake lit and blown out all at the same time. It was great timing.

We also had surprised Kai at his class with cupcakes and chocolate milk. The class loved it and sang Happy Birthday to him and his friend Ta'te who was also turning 7.

The day of the Walking with the Dinosaurs day, I took Kai out for pancakes - which is one of his favorite foods, and we just hung out. He said he liked hanging out with me and having pancakes, but he wishes that he didn't remember it was the last day of Walking with The Dinosaurs, because he was kind of sad about not being able to go.
So, we ate our pancakes, browsed the store and he got one little Lego set. I told Kai we should go to the Rose Garden just to see if they were letting people in to see the dinosaurs since the show was over and maybe we could just look at them and take pictures. That seemed to excite him, and so we went. Little did he know that he was going, and when we got there, I broke the big surprise. To see the video of his shocked little self, you can watch below.
Here are a few pics of the show. :)

That is a real man narrating in the left hand corner. Just to give you perspective on how actually big the dinosaurs were.

Here is a picture of us, patiently waiting for the show to begin. And you know you can't enjoy the show to its fullest with out the T-Rex hat.

He had a wonderful birthday. Thank you to all his family and friends who love him so much and gave him a great birthday.
