Where to begin and where to start? Which direction should we go? Why not downtown Portland for Sand in the City!
We know what time it is, so let's not get lost, have some fun and make sure we catch the Max back home. Here we go.
The buildings are tall, but don't let them overwhelm you.
We made it.

The huge sandbox in the corner of Pioneer Square was a huge hit for many kids. After all they couldn't touch the carefully sculpted sand pictures.
Mom, I'm busy burying my feet. We can't walk around yet, because I haven't gotten stuck yet.
Where's Kai & Kolbie? You know instead of Where's Waldo.
There's Kai, and oh yah Kolbie is still stuck in the sand up to her knees.
Kai washed off to go see these however. The OMSI brought in the Lego Robotics clubs projects. He was COMPLETELY inthrawled with them. I think we may be signing some one up for robotics camp soon. :)
These were done by kids grades 3-6.
We had to stop for a face painting. Our friend Karen was painting the children of the thousands of people that came over the 3 day period.
Here's Alice in Wonderland.
I think this is Chester....LOL I don't know Alice in Wonderland that well.

But here's the little aliens from Toy Story!
And Buzz teaching us about helmet safety.
Good by Pioneer Square, it was fun!
Look mom, we made it back on the Max!
So many things to do, so little time.

Stacey & I trying to stay warm and not get eaten alive by the mosquitos July 4th.
The boys came over with Stacey & Ray and we opened up the back of the truck, ate ice cream and lit fireworks.

We lit the legal ones, and all our neighbors lit the illegal ones. It was about a two hour fireworks show. Why go to Vancouver or downtown when the big ones happen right on our street.

Earlier we had gone to the farm and though it was chilly, the kids played in the water and had alot of fun trying to break open the pinata.
It was cold on the 4th, but a couple days later we were well into the 90's. So we went swimming.

Kolbie loves the hot tub, mainly because she can practice plugging her nose, she doesn't have to wear a life jacket because we are right there, and because it is warmer than the pool, but not hot.

Kolbie and her noodle.
Yes people that is Sahaan in the water. He has been bringing up the kids he mentors up to the house and playing basketball with Kai and the boys. Kai loves it.
Kolbie however, would rather rock in the hammock with her grandpa. She is obsessed with her grandpas. Very cute!
The kids had various camps that they went to and this particular morning Kai was at OMSI camp. So the girls and I went to the park.

Pennisula Park also has a rose garden - huge actually with gazebo, so I got a couple of pics of the girls with the roses and by the fountain.
Kai's hair was just getting too hard to manage for the hot summer months, so we faded it up again. So handsome I might say.
He has quite the tan going on too. He has been out playing, at camps, and going on fishing trips with our church fish club. This was after the first trip. He caught 10 fish, giving 1 to some one else and putting 3 back in the water. These he brought home.

It was 94 out that day and he was up early. 7:30am - 3:30pm. He was exhausted and fell asleep sitting up in a chair outside at home.

This summer we have also done some berry picking. We picked a gallon size bag of blueberries and 2 pints of raspberries to eat and 4 more cups to make raspberry jam. On this trip we went with our pastor and his family.
This is Brazil, their second child. They also have Bella and Tillman.
Kolbie finally chose to help pick berries after she sat down on a blanket and had herself a full on picnic. Ever since the tonsilectomy she has been eating like a horse.
We have also done our moms and tots playdates. This one was at Jamison Square in the center of the Pearl District. It is a huge water fountain park and mini man made pond for little ones. It is awesome. Our playdates are now over for the summer, but we now have after church picnics on Sunday. The whole church goes out and fellowships and has a good time with one another.

This is the founder and volunteer of the ICC fish club. Bobby Harris.
He helped the kids build fishing poles from scratch that are now ready to use and fish with.

Our neighbor went with Sahaan and Kai. He is Kai's other Robert. We have Robert cousin and Robert neighbor.

Bobby getting Kai's pole ready.
Not long after...

Kai was pulling um in. He had caught 3-4 before others had even gotten their poles in the water.

I forgot some of Kolbie's tonsilectomy pics and I haven't yet shown our first vacation with the kids to Wild Life Safari. So stay tuned.
